Our Pastor
Rev. Dr. Alvin J. Gurley is a pastor, Christian educator, and author who is a catalyst for positive change in the community and nation through his service to the people of God.
Rev Dr. Alvin J. Gurley received his B. S. degree in Business Management from Hampton University in Hampton, Virginia. He continued his education by completing his Master of Biblical Studies degree with a concentration in Teaching and Pastoral Ministry from the Midwest Seminary of Bible Theology in Petersburg, Virginia. In 2021, Pastor Gurley received his Doctorate of Divinity from the Tabernacle Divinity School in Hopewell, Virginia. He is also the author of The Decline of African American Males in the Rural Baptist Church.
Rev Dr. Alvin J. Gurley proudly served six years in the United States Army as a 1st Lieutenant.
Rev Dr. Alvin J. Gurley was born in Newark, New Jersey. He is married to MaryAnn Gurley and they have one son AJ Gurley, a daughter-in-law, Kendra Gurley, and two granddaughters Corryn Talley and Nori Gurley.
